SMEC International invites application from suitable hardworking and motivated candidates for the position of ‘Deputy Country Manager’ preferably to be based in Astana, Kazakhstan. He/she shall be responsible for SMEC’s operations in Kazakhstan and support its business development activities in the region. This will be a full time regular employment with prospects of promotion in future subject to good performance.

Key Responsibilities:
The position shall be responsible for all activities of SMEC that relate to development of business and administration of company operations. He/ She will work closely with SMEC senior managers to achieve annual targets and promote the business in line with the organization’s strategic objectives, assist in preparation of consultancy proposals, deal with financial, administration and corporate matters of the company within the Country, provide local support to SMEC Team Leaders/ Project Managers in setting up projects, arrange local staffing, invoicing, build relationships with local consulting firms, coordinate with the clients etc. The position will report to SMEC’s Regional Manager / Regional Operations Manager.
Qualifications & Experience: Graduate in Engineering (preferably Civil Engg.), MBA or related disciplines, should have at-least 8 years experience or higher in the field of engineering, business development and project management ideally with Consulting/Engineering organizations, possess sound managerial & commercial skills, able to work under pressure, good computer skills and experience of Donor funded projects will be an advantage.
Communication Skills: Must be conversant in English and Russian (writing & speaking), and Kazakh/ local languages. Able to translate.
